OGL in collaboration with SMU professor Andrew MacRae and MSc student Matthew Stimson are investigating the molecular fossils or biomarkers from Carboniferous rocks in the famous Joggins fossil locality. The OGL team hope to gain a better understanding of when and to what extent marine inclusions have influenced the deposition of sediments and the preservation of organic matter.
